Cooking class: learn how to cook an Italian recipe
Private Experience
Your experience
Take a seat at Cesarine's welcoming tables to savour forgotten recipes, preserved and handed down through generations.
During this cooking class at my home, Cesarina Rosa in the centre of Bologna, you will learn how to prepare a traditional Bolognese fresh pasta recipe and enjoy a two-course lunch or dinner at the end of the cooking class.
Tortelloni are one of my specialities, and I will reveal tips and secrets for making them to perfection in your own home... After this enjoyable "effort," we will sit down at the table to enjoy them, followed by meatballs (which I am the queen of) and ending with dessert... Wine? Of course!

- We had an incredible culinary experience at Rosa's home. In addition to learning how to cook food in the local way, she also told us about some Italian products. I recommend visiting her. You will really immerse yourself in the typical atmosphere of Bologna, and you will also meet an incredibly kind person.
- I am visiting Italy for the first time and barely speak Italian. Even so, Rosa was extremely welcoming and made me feel at home. She helped me learn different pasta shapes and fillings in a constructive way. In the end, the pasta was amazing and this class was the highlight of the trip. If you are looking for a homely meal with an extremely kind person to guide your lesson, Rosa is the person for you.
- My son and I did a pasta and Tiramisu class with Rosa. She was a wonderful teacher and we had so much fun. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I highly recommend this activity.
- We spent an unforgettable morning with Rosa, who immediately made us feel comfortable. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by her kittens and the aroma of freshly brewed moka. After a chat, we immediately got our hands dirty and, thanks to Rosa's expert guidance, we completed all the steps to make tortellini and tortelloni. Rosa also offered us a delicious Emilian aperitivo and told us her story and experience as a Cesarina, along with all her secrets for making fresh pasta. And then finally we tasted the pasta made with our own hands: what a satisfaction! We will definitely try to repeat it at home, even if it won't be the same without Rosa, who was truly kind and helpful!
- Had a great time learning how to make pasta and Ragu. Very enjoyable lesson with Rosa who was sweet and fun.

Cesarina from 2018Location: Bologna (BO) Languages: Italian and EnglishI live on the outskirts of Bologna, surrounded by greenery, together with my two cats, Tony and Gino, whose playful personalities always keep the house full of life. I am a lawyer by profession, but I have always loved cooking and the culinary traditions of Bologna, which are an important part of my life. In my free time, I enjoy preparing the classic dishes of our cuisine, sometimes adding a personal touch, and sharing these moments with friends and guests in a warm and authentic atmosphere.
