Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina
Shared Experience
Your experience
Welcome to my home in the hills of Bologna for a unique experience dedicated to potato gnocchi!
First we will prepare tiramisu, the quintessential Italian dessert, which will rest while we enjoy a welcome drink. Next, I will guide you step by step through the gnocchi making process, from the dough to the strands, to creating the perfect gnocchi. We will dress them with tomato or butter and sage and enjoy them together, accompanied by selected local wines.
We will end with our tiramisu and a good coffee. I will welcome you in an environment with attention to detail to share tradition, taste and conviviality!

- Roberta is an Amazing cook, she totally made our trip to Bologna, the best food and such a great host. She has a passion for cooking and it's all made with love from Italy. If you want to do something fun, she totally makes it worth it.
- Roberta has a beautiful big house, her hospitality was great, we were with two youth girls and she gave big attention to their needs. the workshop was efficient and we got many tips.
- We had a wonderful cooking class with Roberta! She is a natural teacher and very patient; all five of us learned new techniques. After preparing delicious pasta and tiramisu, we ate dinner in the dining room of Roberta’s beautiful apartment. We highly recommend this experience, and will do it again when we return to Bologna.
- My wife and I did the cooking class with Roberta in our honeymoon. We both really loved the class and having Roberta teach us how to cook different types of dishes. We also really loved her cooking in her beautiful apartment. We would highly recommend this experience.
- This was the highlight of our stay in Bologna! Roberta is a a great host, and we had such a fun evening cooking, feasting and chatting with a small group of fellow travellers wanting to learn the art of pasta. We made two types of fresh pasta and delicious tiramisu. Roberta is a good and knowledgeable teacher who made us feel right at home in her fabulous kitchen. Fun activity solo or as a couple. The aperitivo and wine were so good. We look forward to making these recipes for our family back home!

Cesarina from 2023Location: Bologna Languages: Italian, English, FrenchI love my kitchen both as a space and as a working environment. I enjoy getting my hands in the dough to make pasta, including thin sheets and shortcrust pastry. Being Tuscan, my cuisine is a blend of Tuscan and Emiliana traditions. From the typical lasagna and tagliatelle to the classic Tuscan pappa al pomodoro, my kitchen represents a fusion of these regional influences. The journey through traditional flavors continues with favorites like tiramisu and the iconic Prato biscuits, perfect for dipping into Vin Santo. My kitchen reflects my passion for tradition and the joy of sharing these gastronomic pleasures with others.
