Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience

Let’s discover together the art of preparing traditional orecchiette from Puglia, a dish that symbolizes Southern Italian cuisine, which we will season with flavorful cime di rapa (turnip greens) or broccoli, depending on the seasonal preferences. While our orecchiette are drying, we will dedicate ourselves to preparing delicious soft lemon cookies, with a fresh and inviting aroma, adding a sweet touch to our culinary experience.

At the end of this journey through the authentic flavors of Puglia, we will conclude with a tasting of the dishes we’ve prepared, where each bite will tell the story of tradition. There will also be a starter of friselle with fresh tomatoes, a simple yet flavorful dish, all accompanied by a glass of Primitivo di Manduria, a fine red wine from the region.

My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon in Bologna with Debby and Rosa. They were warm, kind, and incredibly hospitable. We felt right at home as we learned to make fresh pasta from scratch. The workshop was hands-on and informative. We learned traditional techniques. It was fun, delicious, and filled with love. The kitchen was filled with warmth, both from the food and from Debby and Rosa’s beautiful energy. A truly special experience we’ll always cherish!

Deborah and Janette were wonderful hosts, the class felt less like a class and more like cooking a meal with long time friends. My wife and I took the class on our honeymoon and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, acclimated my wife's lactose intolerance, and even had glasses with hearts in them. We cooked Gnocchi with Deborah's guidance and chatted and cut up for the better part of 4 hours. We talked about life, the world, work, travel and all sorts. The food and wine were phenomenal but the hospitality made our night. Thank you very much for a wonderful night, we hope to visit again sometime.

Deb and Janette were great! My wife and I had such a fun night and really enjoyed sitting and chatting with Deb & Jannette as much as we enjoyed learning how to make traditional Italian food. 10/10 would highly recommend.

My husband and I attended a cooking class with Deborah and Janette in June 2025. We both had such a wonderful time learning to make pasta and tiramisu. Deborah & Janette were warm and welcoming throughout the whole process and offered so much local knowledge. I highly recommend this class to anyone - it was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Lovely time cooking with Deb! She was warm and inviting - wonderful restaurant recommendations had so much fun making pasta with her. She even sent us wonderful pictures following the cooking class. I would highly recommend if you were in Bolonga.

I love cooking traditional Apulian dishes and find great satisfaction in kneading dough, dedicating myself to making fresh pasta and small pizzas.
