Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Ravioli with buffalo ricotta (homemade pasta) with ragu
  • Pumpkin gnocchi (homemade pasta) with melted butter, sage and smoked ricotta
  • Handmade scialatielli with fresh seasonal toppings

Our experience begins with a cozy aperitif, accompanied by wine made by my mother and appetizers typical of our area. After this convivial moment, we will immerse ourselves in the preparation of different types of pasta, later seasoned with fresh produce from our garden. At the end of the preparation, we will all gather to set the table and enjoy the dishes that with love, creativity and a lot of joy we have prepared together.

What a fun time for my wife and I to experience how Italian families really cook in their homes - one of the highlights of our trip. We learned to make pasta from scratch; Ndunderi (Ricotta Gnocchi) in a tomato sauce and Ravioli in a zucchini sauce and the best ever tasting Tiramisu. We were amazed that most everything came from their garden, including the cheese, salami, olives, bread and all the vegetables. They even shared their mother’s home made wine with us. Carmine and her family’s place is located up in the hills outside of Salerno, but she arranged for our transportation. They don’t speak English and we didn’t speak Italian, but that was not an issue. Can’t wait to get home to try our new skills at making pasta - we even ordered Italian flour.

Carmen is amazing!!! And Marcello, as well! Her home is beautiful and she opened up her doors to us as if we were family. She had pre-prepared delicious appetizers all of which were homemade, including wine and salami. We made pasta together and ate until stuffed! We have a lifetime memory of cooking and enjoying a meal with both of them. They made our entire trip!!

Our experience with Carmen was fantastic! The food, the Italian way, hospitality, and meeting her family was a treasure we will always remember! We would highly recommend booking a cooking class with Carmen!

This was a great experience. Carmine and Marcello were such charming hosts. You can really feel how much they love to meet new people. They only take one booking a night so you will not have to share this experience with multiple groups. Don't be intimidated if your Italian is not very good. They are patient listeners and are good at communicating despite the language barriers. The food was great and the overall experience was super fun. If you use Google maps to get there be sure to let them know in advance. Google maps isn't quite accurate.

Our experience with Carmen and family was absolutely wonderful! Besides eating and learning about delicious Italian cuisine and cooking, being immersed with an Italian family for an evening was interesting, exciting, and pleasant. We recommend it to anyone that wants to venture out and experience Italian family dining and living.
