Hi from Maria Cristina!

I have always loved cooking. I learned from my mother that she was a perfect cook and taught me to recognize the good taste of food, its genuineness and the tradition of typical dishes that are handed down from mother to daughter. Hospitality in mine. land and in my family has always been a strong point: a place at the table is always added with great joy in offering good food to guests. I live in Florence because I moved to study, so I integrated Tuscan cuisine with that of my land and I must say that it was a beautiful enrichment of flavors and recipes .

: We recently visited Italy with our two grown daughters and their husbands and of all our experiences in all of the places we visited, our cooking class in the home of Maria Cristina was one of our favorites. Since we had 6 people, Maria Cristina and her husband, Marco, picked us up in town and drove us out into the country outside of Florence to their beautifully restored farm house that was originally built in the 1300’s. They were so welcoming and Maria Cristina got to work teaching us how to make a traditional Italian meal including homemade pasta and fresh sauce, bruschetta, roast pork with a prune sauce and tiramisu for dessert. It was delicious and we had so much fun helping and learning together. Over dinner, Marco gave us a history lesson about some of the effects of WWII in the area. They are such a warm and welcoming couple and we truly felt like we had just had dinner at a good friend’s home. I would highly recommend adding this experience to any visit to Florence. : Outstanding lesson, explained ingredients, made special accommodations for my daughter, who is gluten free and gave us additional knowledge about Florence.
: Cristina welcomed us into her wonderful country home and gave us a great Tuscan cooking experience. All of us, from 21 to 62 years of age, thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and of course the dinner too.
: We had a wonderful time with Cristina. She took us on a market tour of where locals get the fresh food and ingredients. We then went to her beautiful home, a short drive to the country side. It was quiet with amazing views, like something out of a movie. The cooking and food were outstanding. We shared stories and had a great time. She truly opened her home to us. One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend. If we come back to Italy we will be sure to visit Cristina again.
