Hello from Giovanna, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
my home is located along the famous portici Bolognesi from Via D'Azeglio to Piazza dei Tribunali, it takes its name from the artisanal production of tablecloths since 1288, hence Via delle tovaglie. Ever since I was a child in the family bakery and pastry shop, I learned to knead, to be amazed every time by what, with water, flour, sugar, colors and flavors, masterpieces were churned out. In my cooking classes I try to move my guests by recreating those masterpieces that are the traditions of timeless dishes, of those industrious hands of our grandmothers who with love passed on their knowledge to us.

- Giovanna welcomed us in her beautiful home near the city centre of Bologna. She prepared a beautiful spread of appetizers with prosecco and made us feel right at home. She taught us how to make two different types of stuffed pasta, ravioli and balanzoni, and also tiramisu. She had a wonderful translator that helped answering all of our questions. Giovanna was patient, kind, ane welcoming, and has plenty of experience as she used to own a restaurant! We learned so much in 3 hours and had the most delicious dinner paired with great wine. It was an intimate setting and we got a lot of hands-on experience with preparation of the dishes. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to learn how to make delicious pasta! Thank you Giovanna for a wonderful experience.
- Per la nostra visita a Bologna volevamo sentirci non solo turisti, ma ospiti e abbiamo pensato di vivere un'esperienza con le Cesarine che per noi ha significato incontrare Giovanna, la quale si è mostrata sia una perfetta padrona di casa, mettendoci a nostro agio, sia una cuoca capace, spiegando i piatti che andavamo a preparare e offrendo spiegazioni chiare. Ha saputo gestire i tempi di preparazione con sicurezza e quando il piatto aveva richiesto una pre-preparazione ha illustrato chiaramente quanto aveva già eseguito. - Our family of four had an amazing experience with Giovanna! She welcomed us into her home with open arms and is an incredible chef. Although Giovanna doesn't speak English, her neighbor Lucy was there to translate, and she was also wonderful and very sweet. The experience felt authentic and personal, definitely a highlight of our trip. My husband is vegan, and Giovanna accommodated him with a delicious tofu tortellini in a fresh tomato sauce, which he and our kids loved. If you love food and want to immerse yourself in Italian culture, this experience is a must!
