In Italian households, baking bread at home is an ancient ritual, filled with aromas, actions, and patience. It is a special moment that embodies our tradition. Bread can be made in countless ways: using different types of flour (whole wheat, 00, semolina), with or without oil, with little or no salt, enriched with various seeds, using yeast or a long fermentation process. It can be shaped into different forms or made as a single loaf. The slow fermentation is the key step to ensuring the success of our experience. We will complete it by tasting the freshly baked bread and preparing together various types of bruschetta: with tomato, evo oil, and other seasonal delicacies. The same procedure, with a different baking method, is used to make focaccia. A good wine will accompany the dishes

Mónica is a lovely woman. She is kind and generous with her time and resources. She is a very good ambassador for the food of Lucca and Tuscany.

My husband and I had an incredible experience with Monica and her husband. The house was lovely, as we made food on the back patio. We started by making the dough and then while the dough raised, we had some appetizers that were local to their area. We had incredible conversation, although somewhat challenging with the language, but we all did incredibly well. We then made the pasta and the sauces for the noodles. It was an incredible night! And one that I would recommend to anyone.

Monica and her husband were wonderful hosts and took great care and time to teach and create a fun experience.

We had such a lovely time with Monica during our cooking class! She treated us like family, and served us to some of the most delicious food we have had in Italy! She was a great instructor, and made the experience both fun and educational, and really gave the class a personal touch! I highly recommend Monica for an authentic Italian cooking experience!!

This experience was wonderful! We were paired with Monica who warmly welcomed us into her home and gave us a night to remember! We started by analyzing the unlimited number of available Italian flour before selecting the base of our pasta. She was patient and strict at the same time - exactly what you'd expect from an Italian teacher. We greatly enjoyed rolling the dough, making the sauces, cutting the pasta, and drinking the wine! Monica and her husband were super entertaining with their local stories and jubilant attitude. I was full for days afterwards. 10/10 would cook again!
