Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

  • Tarallucci: small biscuits, baked goods

Tarallucci are small biscuits typical of Italian tradition, usually served with a glass of wine. In the past, offering something to eat and drink was a simple gesture of hospitality and conviviality; people would sit down at the table, chat and put their differences aside. This image gave rise to the very Italian expression ‘tarallucci e vino’, which conveys the idea that, gathered round a table, any dispute can be peacefully resolved over a good glass of wine and something to nibble on. Come and have a nibble with us and take home a little memento of the experience.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our cooking experience with Nicolette and Stefania! From the moment we stepped into their home, we felt like we were being welcomed by old friends. Their warmth, hospitality, and attention to every detail made the entire experience so special. And the spectacular view was just the icing on the cake! We had so much fun learning to make three different types of pasta—orichiete, tagliatelle, and pici . Nicolette and Stefania were incredibly patient and intentional with their instructions, making everything easy to follow and enjoyable. The sauces they prepared were absolutely exceptional, using the simplest ingredients. It was such a wonderful reminder that good food doesn’t need to be complicated. But what made this experience truly memorable went far beyond the cooking. We shared stories about family, culture, traditions, and all the similarities that connect us, despite living worlds apart. There was so much laughter and genuine conversation. My husband, who had never taken a cooking class before, said this was the best part of our entire vacation in Italy! And I couldn’t agree more. We arrived as guests, but I genuinely feel we left as friends. Nicolette and Stefania gave us so much more than a cooking lesson. They gave us a beautiful memory that we’ll carry home with us. If you’re visiting Rome, I cannot recommend this experience enough. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip! ❤️
