Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Traditional mix appetizers
  • Green tagliatelle with ragù
  • Tiramisu

I’ll welcome you into my home in the heart of Bologna, where we’ll start with an appetizer that embodies Emilia’s soul: authentic mortadella, perfectly aged Parmigiano Reggiano, and true balsamic vinegar, all paired with a glass of local wine. Then, between smiles and family stories, I’ll share with you the secret of my Grandma Luisa’s green tagliatelle with ragù. We’ll roll up our sleeves to knead fresh pasta dough while the sauce simmers slowly, filling the house with irresistible aromas. Finally, we’ll sit down together to enjoy the fruits of our work, raising a toast to life. Small groups only, because Emilian hospitality is generous, but we love to truly connect with our guests.

The cooking class with Veronica was great fun and probably the moment I will remember the most from our trip to Bologna. Veronica was wunderful at teaching us to make the pasta dough and then shape it into torteloni and tagliatelle. We had a nice lunch with probably the best pasta we ever tasted. Thank you, Veronica! I will keep on doing my own pasta!

This experience was the highlight of our visit to Bologna. Veronica’s beautiful home was a lovely place, set up perfectly for the “Master Class”. You left knowing that generations of experience was passed on to us. Highly recommend.

If you are lucky enough to be matched with Veronica you're in luck!! She made us feel like we were cooking with family! Nothing felt rushed or pressured. She was very kind sweet and was paitient in teaching techniques. She is a wonderful person and we felt like we learned more than just making pasta buy made a friend! Hope to see you again! Cheers!

We feel so fortunate to have been able to spend the morning making pasta and cooking with Veronica. From the beginning she was incredibly warm and welcoming and invited us into her beautiful home. We made 3 different types of pasta and even got the opportunity to experiment with new tastes and flavours. She can cater to all abilities and levels of experience in the kitchen. It was a great morning. We came away having learnt and refined our skills with pasta and also got the chance to share some of our own recipes with Veronica. Rather than a class, it felt more like spending time with a friend. Veronica was incredibly personable and gave us plenty of recommendations for the rest of our trip in Italy and the Emilia-Romagna region. We would recommend her whole heartedly.

I learned the dishes of the Bolognese tradition from my grandmothers: from nettle tagliatelle (hand-rolled with a rolling pin) to lasagna, tortelloni, cannelloni, and tortellini, passing through stuffed zucchini, meatballs, Cotoletta alla Petroniana, hunter-style rabbit, and crescentine, all the way to rice cake, raviole, and the Christmas pinza. I also love experimenting with other cuisines: from the Sardinian tradition (my husband is Sardinian) to all the regional specialties of our beautiful Italy. For me, the key is always to use top-quality ingredients and pair every dish with a good wine to bring out its full flavor!
