Our family had the most extraordinary Thanksgiving experience in Rome, all thanks to the incredible hospitality and culinary expertise of Chef Ofelia and her wonderful fiancé. From the moment we stepped into their warm and welcoming home, we felt an immediate connection that made us feel like family. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, from the cozy ambiance to the meticulous incorporation of Thanksgiving traditions that truly touched our hearts. The meal was a masterpiece — a blend of traditional homemade dishes, such as turkey, cornbread, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie, alongside freshly made pasta that we had the joy of preparing ourselves. It was a delightful nod to both our American roots and the Italian culture surrounding us. What truly stood out was the care and attention given to dietary preferences, ensuring everyone could indulge without compromise. They even prepared enough food for leftovers, which we lovingly sent home for our son’s roommates as we were in Italy reuniting with him on his semester studying abroad. The experience wasn’t just about the food, though that was unforgettable. It was about the personal touches, the laughter shared, and the deep sense of connection that made this Thanksgiving so special. We left with full hearts, grateful bellies, and memories we’ll cherish forever. If you’re looking for more than just a meal — if you want an experience that will stay with you long after the plates are cleared — this is it. Truly a Thanksgiving we will never forget!

I had a great cooking class and a wonderful evening together with Ofelia. We made really delicious Italian food, that I will make again at home, and I really enjoyed the evening with Ofelia and her fiancé.

Very friendly, cheerful, and sociable – I immediately felt at home. When I mentioned beforehand that this was a surprise for our anniversary, she went the extra mile to make it special. The food was delicious, my favorite was the variety of dips she prepared. Her cooking class was relaxed and inviting, creating a truly memorable experience for both of us. This private class felt so unique, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome! Ofelia, thank you so much for this experience – it was the cherry on top of our weekend in Rome.

This was our first trip to Italy and we wanted to take a cooking class while there. OMG, what a treat meeting Ofelia and taking her class. We felt like family, long overdue for a visit. We were lucky enough to be her only pupils that day. She started us off with a short walk gathering ingredients from the farmer's market, a boutique grocery store and finally a butcher. Once we got back to her home we started right in learning the finer points of making fresh pasta with a mushroom sauce. While we dined she continued preparing and discussing the Tiramisu she was working on. Absolutely a perfect lunch! We were so engrossed visiting with Ofelia about her family and her cooking that time just flew by. If you happen to be in Rome and you are interested in cooking, we highly recommend taking a class from Ofelia! Our only regret is that we took our class on the last day we were there and didn't have the time to take another one. John and Teresa

The class was so much fun. And I loved watching Ofelia cook. Her skill and enthusiasm are obvious, the way she could pay attention to two or three things, and keep up her commentary and answer questions at the same time was truly delightful. I was enchanted and would come for another class if I could.

Hello everyone! Mine is a cuisine that starts above all from traditional family recipes. I was born in Calabria, but mine is a family branched out in cultural and consequently also culinary history. A great-grandmother of a Jewish family married to a great-grandfather an aviator American, another who abandoned dancing with the consuls for a marriage with an intellectual of peasant origins, all united with the Calabrian mountain tradition. From the branch of Jewish origins I took the great love for sweet and sour, for fermented recipes and spicy scents, from the noble branch some recipes that I discovered to be relatives of sometimes Sicilian and sometimes Neapolitan cuisine (from the Kingdom of the two Sicilies:), some that I have never happened to find in other houses. I moved to Rome almost twenty years ago to study and I stayed there, here I also assimilated some recipe books from my partner who is a Roman from Trastevere, making my own super recipes rlatives of the Roman tradition, such as the first classics or the Maritozzi, which I often personalize with fillings that bring me and my guests back to Calabria!
