Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Bruschetta
  • Lasagna (homemade pasta)
  • Typical Neapolitan dessert

I welcome you near one of the most picturesque and historically rich locations in the city, the Basilica of Santo Stefano. In the cobblestone streets of the historic center, where locals and tourists blend in a lively daily dance, I spend much of my time between my family and the kitchen. I invite you to join us for a special cooking class where you can not only taste the delights of Bolognese cuisine but also have the opportunity to learn Bolognese and other recipes. We start with a variety of bruschettas and mousse of mortadella, then move on to baked lasagna, and finish with a typical Neapolitan dessert, reflecting my Campanian origins. I look forward to sharing the warmth of my kitchen and the secrets of my recipes with you.

Everything was so nice, we learned to do pasta, and tiramisu There were lots of laughs and joy! We had so much fun with Oriana! And we recommend her to everybody !!

Oriana is both a professional and a Nonna in all respects. Enjoying a chilled beverage the moment we arrived at her top floor apartment overlooking Bologna, gave us a sense it would be a great day. And it was! My wife was a good sous-chef as she has smaller hands but Oriana deftly helped me create tortellini and tagliatelle, making me believe I did it by myself. She was gracious and patient in her teaching and together we created a wonderful dinner. She added a great wine, olive oil, mortadella and cheeses to complement the meal we created. We totally enjoyed our time together and can understand why Oriana gets great reviews. Also, best tiramisu I have ever had AND I made it!

I had the most wonderful experience at Oriana’s cooking class! From the moment we arrived, Oriana made us feel completely at home warm and welcoming. She guided us step by step through the art of making fresh tortellini from scratch, Every step was very fun, and Oriana shared so many helpful tips about ingredients and techniques. After the tortellini, we moved on to tiramisu. Oriana’s version was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, and she taught us how to layer it perfectly . We got to enjoy everything we made together. It wasn’t just a cooking class it was a great experience. I left feeling inspired, full, and excited to try everything again at home. Thank you, Oriana, for such a memorable day. I’d recommend this class to anyone who loves Italian food and authentic local experiences!

Oriana
Cesarina from 2018Location: Bologna    Languages: Italian and English
Oriana, our Cesarina, lives within walking distance of one of the most historically rich and picturesque places in Bologna, the Basilica di Santo Stefano.  Here, in one of the most beloved areas of the historic town, by both Bolognese and tourists, Oriana introduces us to her family: Salvatore, her husband, and their four children that they love to pamper by cooking them healthy meals, while passing on the family recipes. Oriana is originally from Naples, but living in Bologna, she has learned how to make sfoglia, the typical local pasta, and ragù alla Bolognese. She delights in choosing the best cuts of meat to prepare her excellent bollito, or boiled meat, and for the smallest of her daughters, a lover of tortellini, she cooks this local pasta strictly in meat broth.
