Cooking lesson: learn how to cook Italian recipes with a local Cesarina
Private Experience
Your experience
In this completely vegetarian cooking class, you will learn some typical Bolognese recipes passed down through generations, as well as how to knead a great pizza.
In this course I propose farfalline (we call them stricchetti) topped with a tomato and onion sauce, typical Bolognese, perhaps one of the few vegetarian recipes in my city.
This will be followed by pizza, an excellent margherita pizza, with the addition of some mushrooms, if my guests like, to be baked in the oven.
It concludes with another great classic: torta tenerina. All vegetarian and all extremely tasty!
At the end of the course we will enjoy the prepared dishes with a good local wine.

- A Truly Unforgettable Cooking Experience with Paola in Bologna Taking a cooking class with Paola was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Bologna. From the moment we stepped into her beautiful home, we were welcomed not only as guests, but as friends. Paola opened her kitchen and her heart to us, guiding us through a hands-on cooking experience that was as joyful as it was delicious. We learned how to make a delicate squash soufflé, a perfectly crispy and tender cotoletta, and a indulgent, creamy tiramisu - each dish full of flavor, tradition, and love. Cooking with Paola felt like being part of a true Italian family. We laughed, shared stories, and sat down afterwards to enjoy the meal we made together - which was truly one of the best we had in Italy. This was more than just a cooking class; it was a cultural exchange and the beginning of a new friendship. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Bologna. If you're looking for something genuine, personal, and deeply satisfying — both for your palate and your heart — don't miss cooking with Paola.
- Ottima esperienza. Paola è un'ottima hostess
- An intriguing person with a unique and elegant apartment, Paola gently guided us through the pasta-making process—and showed us how to make the BEST tiramisu we have ever had.
- We had such a fun night learning pasta making techniques and how to create light and perfectly sweet tiramisu from our warm and welcoming hostess Paola! She created an unforgettable experience for us and we would highly recommend adding a stop at her beautiful home to your Bologna itinerary!
- I attended the cooking class with my 13yo daughter, because we were both curious how the proper ragú al bolognese is prepared. With Paola not only we learnt two types of ragú but also two types of pasta. In her lovely house and beautiful kitchen she led us through the process with love and patience. She also prepared some delicious antipasto. Paola is a great cook, perfect teacher and really good companion for a chat, too. I hope, Paola had great time with us as we had with her. Thank you very much! Hope to be back soon for other delicious recipes. P.S. I have already cooked your ragú and tried the mortadella mousse. Marvelous! ❤️
