Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina
Shared Experience
Your experience
A warm welcome to my home in the hills of Bologna, where you can enjoy a unique culinary experience! In three hours, you will learn how to make tagliatelle with Bolognese ragù like a real sfoglina. You will discover the secrets of fresh pasta making, working the pasta sheet with a rolling pin, a symbol of Bolognese tradition. We will begin with a welcome appetizer, followed by the preparation of the ragout and noodles. After cooking the dish, we will taste it together, accompanied by selected local wines. We will end with a homemade dessert and a good coffee! My home, elegant and welcoming, is also accessible to people with reduced mobility. A perfect opportunity to discover Bolognese cuisine in an environment with attention to detail!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about our this experience. It was truly the highlight of our trip. Roberta was so warm and welcoming. We got to choose the type of pasta we wanted to learn how to make and we learned her mother’s recipe for tiramisu. She even placed a candle in the tiramisu to celebrate my son’s birthday. One of my favorite pics is when she gave a kiss to his head. We really felt like we were in Nona’s kitchen. We had so much fun learning all the details of making, kneading, and rolling out the pasta. We also enjoyed delicious wine and espresso over conversations. The food, the company, the culture, the conversation, the whole experience is something we will forever remember. Roberta also shared the recipes with us so we can continue to enjoy this experience even after we arrive back home. 10/10 I would recommend this to anyone visiting Bologna. My son and I have not stopped talking about this all day!

Roberta was very welcoming! Her home and location of the cooking class was very beautiful. Everything was set up in her kitchen which was a culinary dream! My daughter (14yr) my aunt and I enjoyed learning to make tortelloni and ravioli and tiramisu. Roberta spoke English very well and was easy to follow with the cooking. All parts of the dish were hands on from pasta to filling of pasta and all dessert ingredients. The food was simple, yet incredible flavorful! We absolutely enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend Roberta’s class to anyone interested in traditional Italian pasta!

I love my kitchen both as a space and as a working environment. I enjoy getting my hands in the dough to make pasta, including thin sheets and shortcrust pastry. Being Tuscan, my cuisine is a blend of Tuscan and Emiliana traditions. From the typical lasagna and tagliatelle to the classic Tuscan pappa al pomodoro, my kitchen represents a fusion of these regional influences. The journey through traditional flavors continues with favorites like tiramisu and the iconic Prato biscuits, perfect for dipping into Vin Santo. My kitchen reflects my passion for tradition and the joy of sharing these gastronomic pleasures with others.
