Maria Rosella, our Cesarina host, lives in Piano di Sorrento, a corner of paradise on the Sorrento coast that offers simple and natural ingredients for her dishes rich in colors and flavors.
Maria Rosella welcomes us into her cheerful home, within a residential park with a large terrace and garden, to discover the culinary traditions of the area. And she tells us about her culinary passion, inherited from her grandmother, with whom she spent Sunday mornings in the kitchen, while the scent of ragù sauce filled the house, the wise hands of her grandmother kneaded dough and quickly the dishes around the table filled up with gnocchi, ravioli and tagliatelle.
- 'Pizza rustica' (savory pie) and sweet and sour peppers
- 'Gnocchi nel pignatiello alla sorrentina' (baked potato gnocchi with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil)
- Eggplant Parmesan
- Caprese salad (mozzarella and Sorrento tomatoes)
- Grandmother's cake (shortbread tart with cream filling)
